O noso pequeno día da Patria

Por idade e por nacionalidade non tiven a sorte de vivir o 25 de Abril portugués, tampouco a ídilica vida da chamada transición española. Gábome, sen embargo, de ter estado preto do que creo que foi acontecemento social máis importante dos que nacemos cando a dictadura estaba morrendo: o movemento Nunca Máis.

Estes tres episodios próximos, e o feito de andar dende moi novo en endórmenas colectivas, deixaron poso na miña conciencia para entender claramente cousas como: participación, democracia, cidadanía, rebeldía, espíritu crítico...

Máis este post non vai sobre estes acontecementos que tan presentes temos moitos de nós, nin tampouco de teoría dos valores básicos de calquer cidadán.

Este post vai sobre unha festa, a festa da Dorna. Si, de algo que se supón banal e lúdico onde non hai nada máis por debaixo que o propio feito de pasalo ben...

Quizais debera falar do ben que o pasamos xogando, facendo carrilanas, botándonos ao mar cos nosos barcos, cantando polas tabernas, bebendo, rindo,... Pero non, non quero falar diso, iso dáse en moitas outras festas.

O que fai especial á Dorna ten moito que ver coa aplicación práctica dos principios que escribín arriba. Si, crédeme, cando vos digo que estas grandes palabras transfórmanse en realidade na miña Ítaca durante os días de festa (do 16 ao 24 de xullo).

Por exemplo, a participación concrétase en que non hai unha comisión de festas (ou ramistas) que deciden que programa vai haber, que aboan a golpe de talonario todas as actividades . Non, iso non é así. Participamos todos na organización e no desenvolvemento da festa, tanto vale unha opinión dunha rapaza de 15 anos como a dun “señor” de 50. Todos somos participantes e organizadores activos.

Historicamente a Festa da Dorna xurdiu hai máis de medio século cunha clara vocación social. Todos os anos se desenvolvía un baile de gala no que todo o recadado servía para mercar unha dorna. Dorna que era entregada a unha das persoas máis pobres da vila, iso significaba darlle un medio de vida a alguén que non o tiña. Nós anos 80 a festa mudou radicalmente e se lle dou un cariz máis participativo, implicando cada vez a máis e máis xente. Eso soubérono facer moi ben a xente que estiveron, e están, coordinando a festa.

Durante os días previos, e durante os de festa, dáse un especie de espíritu que nos molla a todos. Este espíritu dorneiro fai todos xuntemos as mans para facer, fai que todos nos saúdemos con efusividade, fai que se reforce o espíritu colectivo, fai que berremos contra o poder,... Non é fácil describir as cousas intanxibles. Pero a min recórdame moito, salvando as distancias, ao espíritu daqueles días onde fumos coller negrura do mar.

A magoa é que este espíritu só se respire durante esa semana na Ítaca.

Este espíritu fai que os que somos de aquí teñamos como sinal de identidade esta festa moito antes que calquer equipo de fútbol, partido político, etc.

Xa sabedes, a algún de xa vos invitei (na miña casa hai sitio), espero compartir unha cervexa no chiringuito dorneiro dentro duns días.
